In 1952 Suzuki presented its first motorcycle, the Suzuki Power Free. Since this motorcycle was also very popular with the Japanese, the company's road to success was mapped out. In 1954, the Suzuki Motor Company developed the Suzulight, a small car that became an absolute bestseller. The automobile manufacturer Suzuki is now making a name for itself worldwide and has become the second largest Japanese vehicle manufacturer after Honda. With the founding of the American sales company Suzuki Motor Corp. the group is ready to pursue an international career and is constantly expanding its product range. So it happened that the used cars of the car brand were increasingly to be found on the streets. Suzuki now also produces outboard motors and motor boats and establishes itself as one of the strongest companies in motorcycle production at the end of the 1960s. The cooperation with the American General Motors group bears further fruit, so that Suzuki has production facilities built worldwide and the number of employees increases many times over.

Today there are six workshops in Japan where new Suzuki cars are manufactured. The car brand also has production facilities in other Asian countries such as China, Indonesia and India. The Suzuki used cars are also a bestseller there because they are small and manoeuvrable and consume little fuel. Many models are also made in Europe, for example in Spain and Hungary. The automaker has a total of 35 plants where new cars are manufactured and employs over 50,000 people. Certain models are always manufactured in the individual plants, which are then delivered as new cars all over the world.
With the founding of Suzuki Motor Handels GmbH in 1976, the car manufacturer created a basis in Germany. Initially, no new Suzuki cars were sold from there, but mainly motorcycles and marine products. The foundation was followed in 1979 by the premiere at the presentation of the current models in Germany at the IAA in Frankfurt am Main. Just one year later, the Suzuki new cars were also sold in Germany and the trade in used cars also developed later. The German subsidiary now operates the car, motorcycle and marine products divisions and is based in Bensheim. About 350 people work here.
