Depending on the drive unit, up to 75 hp are possible. As an entry level, 63 hp are already available. The top version with front-wheel drive has a displacement of 1.5 liters and offers a top speed of 160 km/h. The top version, with its fuel consumption of 7.9 liters of petrol (CO2: 190 g/km), therefore belongs less to the economical category. From the first generation to the youngest, the Demio certifies the best values in terms of agility. A crisp, yet comfortable chassis ensures convincing driving characteristics. In the top version, the customer has the choice between a manual 5-speed gearbox or a thoroughly convincing 4-speed automatic. The Demio shines with a good range of infotainment and assistance systems.
The Mazda Demio is impressive with its interior dimensions. The trunk offers 330 liters. Adults also have plenty of space in the front, but the space in the rear is not quite as lavish. It is worth emphasizing the possibility of turning the car into a sunbathing area of 2.03 meters by folding all the seats. This allows two adults to sleep comfortably in the car. The minivan has five doors and seats five people . 13-inch wheels are fitted as standard. The permissible trailer load is 410 kg unbraked and 900 kg with brakes.
The Mazda Demio is a minivan that is only available in the five-door variant. Initially there were two other trim levels in addition to the base model . Some safety systems were included in the “Comfort” variant, including ABS, which cost extra in the basic trim level. If you wanted electric windows as standard, you had to choose the “Exclusive” variant. Only in this version there was the 1.5 liter engine from 2000. In addition, the 14-inch wheels, in combination with precise chassis tuning, lead to safe stability and a smooth ride. The vehicle, which is 3.81 meters long and 1.67 meters wide, also impresses with its excellent driving characteristics, which find their perfection in the four-cylinder engines with between 63 and 75 hp. With a top speed of 160 km/h and the sprint to 100 km/h in just 13 seconds, they consume no more than 7.7 liters of fuel per 100 km.
Another special feature makes the Mazda Demio. When the rear bench seat is folded down, the five-door offers 1,298 liters of storage space, doing credit to its segment, the minivan. And another argument clearly speaks for the all-rounder - with its great price-performance ratio, the van even convinces bargain hunters.
