Mazda was founded in 1920 by Jujiro Matsuda and initially started out as a manufacturer of cork and steel products. In the 1930s, Mazda started producing three-wheel trucks, which were very popular in Japan at the time. After World War II, the company shifted its focus to passenger cars. In 1960 the company changed its name to Mazda and launched its first car, the R360. Since then, the car brand has produced a number of popular models, expanding its lineup to include sedans, station wagons, crossovers and SUVs.
The car brand Mazda offers different models that are available with different drive types in Kenya. Most are Japanese imports and the rest showroom cars from Mazda Kenya. The Mazda CX-60 SUV is relatively new to the market. Mazda offers the MX-30 as an electric car, while the Mazda2 , Mazda3 and CX-30 models are available as hybrid variants . Other Mazda models offered in 2022 include the Mazda6 station wagon, CX-5 crossover and MX-5 two-seater sports car .
Alternatives to the Mazda car brand are other Japanese car brands such as Honda or Toyota . For example, the Honda Civic is a popular alternative to the Mazda3 and the Toyota RAV4 is a popular alternative to the Mazda CX-30. Other alternative car brands to Mazda are the vehicles from the VW group or car models from the brands Opel , Renault , Citroen or Peugeot . All of these brands also offer vehicles that are comparable to Mazda in terms of quality and price.
